Q. “Nehru’s policy of Non-Alignment came to symbolised the struggle of India and other newly independent nations to retain and strengthen their independence from colonialism.” Critically evaluate. [20m]
Ans:

I have been following simran’s answers here and i am always impressed by her insights.
I would however like to discuss the answer for the first question about Mountabatten. I am not convinced that the question asks only for the mountbatten’s plan for partition of bengal and punjab. I believe the question actually asks for his effective role in effecting the process of partition which her answers did not glean on.
I do hope to get some clarification on this question and the answer especially since the answer was posted which means that selfstudyhistory.com endorses the answer, thus i would like to know why you would believe that the question was only asking for the plan.
